Law Abiding Citizen
In a nutshell: imagine Tony Scott doing Saw. Gerard Butler is ice cold cool in lead role, I'm fast getting a watchable-in-anything Stath can-do 'tude towards him. Minus one-star for the ending though, although not sure what else I really expected...

Paranormal Activity (full review)
Paranormal Activity arrives in UK cinemas with the tagline “Dare You Experience The U.S. Phenomenon?” I suggest you do and go experience it with as full a crowd as possible because this is a spine-tingling theatrical encounter not to be missed.

The Informant!
The Informant! is fun and frothy but ultimately lightweight and forgettable! It does feature a fantastically anti-expectation performance from the prolific Matt Damon though, hidden behind a doughy body and fantastico moustachio!

Harry Brown (full review)
Harry Brown is the most exciting and relevant British film since Shane Meadows’ masterpiece This Is England. If that alone doesn’t get your attention then think of this as a spiritual successor and long-awaited sequel to Get Carter. You’re there? You should be.

2012 (full review)
It’s the end of the world as we know it (again) courtesy of the master of disaster Roland Emmerich. And this film is mighty fine.

The Men Who Stare at Goats (full review)
Describing and reviewing The Men Who Stare at Goats isn’t an easy thing (so apologies about the quality you’re about to read). What’s certain though is that it’s smart and funny and fresh and there’s nothing else out there quite like it. The force is strong with this one...

Jennifer's Body (full review)
Unspectacular but solid and stylish, Jennifer’s Body ultimately amounts to nothing more than a lesser episode of Buffy blended with some Raimi-style horror and Cody’s bubblegum teen speak. D-d-don’t believe the hype.

Disney's A Christmas Carol (full review)
Disney’s A Christmas Carol is an effective special effects show reel, but as a film just a bit of a bore. New-but-certainly-not-improved and not in the same league as either The Muppet Christmas Carol or Scrooged. I’d suggest you re-watch those instead.
