To James Carroll Reviews where...

"Everything that has a beginning has an end"

After almost five years of opinion formulation and film reviews the time has come for jamescarrollreviews to set sail for the Grey Havens and enter into semi-retirement due to a radically life-altering change in career direction. Unfortunately my free-time grows short.

Of course reviews will sporadically be uploaded and synopsis opinions will be posted as and when I get to see new releases, but the days of early preview screenings for every new film (that I want to see) are no more.

In my wake I leave you in the more than capable opinions of colleague and amigo mainstreammatt and recommend you regularly check into his site to read real, honest and true thoughts of movie releases anew.

All that's left to say is it’s been emotional and, you know how it is in the movies, sometimes they come back for a sequel so jamescarrollreviews might return in full form yet once life calms down and regulates. For now though this is James Carroll, 0501198030, author, future survivor of the zombie apocalypse, signing off...

...a website dedicated to my opinions on the newest cinematic releases. “What makes me qualified?” is a question you might ask. Well, everyone is entitled to an opinion and these are mine. Anyone who disagrees is more than welcome to email me, but, well, you're gorram WRONG!

I've had an avid interest in film for as long as I can remember (or in fact before I can). My first trip to the cinema was at the tender age of three, when I was privileged enough to see Return of the Jedi during its original run. Obviously I can't remember that occasion with crystal-clear clarity, but Lucas, Lightsabers, the Falcon and the Force left a lasting impression on my fragile little mind.

For me, there's almost no better feeling than sitting in a darkened cinema, feeling the goosebumps rise on the back of your neck as the movie begins. It's the purest form of escapism and wish-fulfillment, your dark surroundings allowing you to completely submerge yourself in the adventures that are folding out before you.

And now this love of cinema has led me down the rabbit hole to film reviews. I currently write for The Epoch Times, a weekly free newspaper distributed in central London. Started by a group of Chinese journalists who wanted to provide accurate coverage of the human rights situation in China, it has since grown into the most widely distributed paper in the world. English-language editions are now printed in New York, Canada, Australia and Ireland, as well as own-language editions in France, Germany and Argentina.

If you wish to find out more you can visit The Epoch Times website through my links page, as well as read each of my articles, in all their published glory, by following the link at the bottom of each review page.

As for the rest of my site, the navigation is simple. Choose the relevant release month from the side bar and then click the title for whichever full review you are interested in.

All that's left to say is thanks for taking the time to visit my site, I hope you enjoy it. Like a superhero though, my work is never done, so it's time for me to make like a tree and get outta here.
